Praise for A Very Good Parade

***STARRED REVIEW***"Gabby is hilariously bossy, and there's a wonderfully off-kilter specificity to the text...The digital art has a cut-paper-and-crayons look that's just right for this galvanizing story's DIY and kid-power spirit. A very good parade-and a truly fantastic book."
Kirkus Reviews

***STARRRED REVIEW***"A triumphant solo picture book debut...Uncorking the joy latent in an ordinary day, it's a bighearted ode to come-as-you-are community and to a child who refuses to march alone."

***STARRED REVIEW***"Lovingly assembled, much like Gabby's parade, Davis's lighthearted, inviting vision of urban harmony feels at once fresh and timeless. Bright, stylized illustrations accompany friendly, flowing text and an inimitable parade leader. This is a very good read-aloud and a wonderful book to linger over."
School Library Journal

"A celebration of young Black girls with strong leadership skills and their ability to bring communities together to create joyful art in a safe space."
Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books
