In 1966, Jan Dibbets had not yet developed a distinct artistic oeuvre. However, three chance encounters pointed him toward his path. His first exhibitions in Amsterdam revealed an abstraction that would eventually evolve into a groundbreaking photographic practice. About the Author
Jan Dibbets (born 1941) is a prominent Dutch visual artist celebrated for his exploration of perception and space. He is best known for using photography to distort reality through "perspective corrections." Following his studies in Tilburg and London, where he connected with influential Land Art artists, he pivoted from painting to conceptual photography and his renowned "Plough Projects." His work has achieved international acclaim and is featured in major museum collections across the globe.
