About the Author

Maryann Cocca-Leffler is an award-winning author and illustrator of more than sixty books for children. Her acclaimed titles include Growing Season, Same Way Ben, The Belonging Tree, and Janine. Through her books, school visits, and advocacy work, she encourages children to embrace kindness, inclusion, perseverance, and self-confidence. She creates her books from her studio in Maine and regularly shares her love of storytelling with young readers in schools and libraries across the country.
