About the Author

Lucasfilm creative art manager Phil Szostak has worked in conjunction with Star Wars art departments since 2008. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York, Szostak ran the JAK Films Art Department on Skywalker Ranch for more than three years before joining the narrative design team on LucasArts's Star Wars: 1313. He is also the author of The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian (Season Two) (Abrams, 2022), The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian (Season One) (Abrams, 2020), The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019), and The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Abrams, 2017).
          
Tony Gilroy is a critically acclaimed, award-winning director, writer, and producer. Most recently, Gilroy served as the creator of Lucasfilm's critically acclaimed, Peabody and Emmy Award-winning series Andor. Gilroy directed, wrote, and produced the upcoming film Behemoth! starring Pedro Pascal, Olivia Wilde, Will Arnett, and Eva Victor. The film is currently in post-production and will be released by Searchlight Pictures. A veteran screenwriter whose credits include Dolores Claiborne, The Devil's Advocate, and the Bourne trilogy, Gilroy made his directorial debut with Michael Clayton, which earned seven Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay. He also wrote and directed Duplicity and The Bourne Legacy and served as a major creative force on Rogue One. Raised in upstate New York, Gilroy is the son of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and filmmaker Frank D. Gilroy and works frequently with his brothers, Dan and John Gilroy. 
      
Dan Gilroy is an Oscar-nominated screenwriter, director, and producer. His feature directing debut, Nightcrawler, won Best Screenplay at the 30th Independent Spirit Awards and was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the 87th Academy Awards. His other screenwriting credits include The Bourne Legacy, Kong: Skull Island, The Fall, and Real Steel. Gilroy was nominated in both Best Drama Series and Best New Series at the 2023 WGA Awards for his work on Andor on Disney+ and won the 2025 Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for his writing on Andor's Season Two episode "Welcomed to the Rebellion."
