Lisa Harvey-Smith is an astrophysicist and Professor of Practice at the University of New South Wales, Australia. She has worked at universities and astronomical observatories around the world and written more than 50 scientific papers about stars, galaxies and black holes. Lisa is a multi-award-winning science communicator, television presenter and former Australian Government Women in STEM Ambassador. Her illustrated science books are enjoyed by adults and children around the world.
Lisa has won both the Australian Museum Eureka Prize and the CSIRO Chairman's Medal. Her books have received accolades including Best Education Title in the Singapore Book Awards, finalist in the Royal Society Young People's Book Prize, finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards, Silver Medalist in the Nautilus Book Awards, and been longlisted in Booktopia's Australia's Favourite Book Award and the Children's Book Council of Australia Eve Pownall Award.
Aidan Ryan is an illustrator, graphic designer and all-round creative living in Naarm (Melbourne). He utilises distinctively simple lines paired with strong colours, allowing the ideas behind his work to speak loud and clear. Aidan finds inspiration in rough or naive designs of unusual and forgotten objects, found through his daily observations of the world.
