Adapted from a poem called “Book of Genesis” by the celebrated poet Kei Miller and beautifully imagined and illustrated by Diana Ejaita, this provocative and hopeful picture book is an ode to the power of words and of books-of seeing oneself and being seen-and to a world of wonder and possibility.
Kei Miller is an award-winning essayist, novelist, and poet. His poem “Book of Genesis” is from his collection There Is an Anger That Moves. In addition to writing, he is a professor of English and creative writing and a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. He divides his time between Jamaica and the United Kingdom.
Diana Ejaita is an illustrator and textile designer based in Berlin. She has designed a number of covers for The New Yorker, and her designs have been featured in the New York Times, the Economist, and the Washington Post. Let is her first book with Cameron Kids.
